Riser Frame

The riser frame both blocks the open manhole during construction and provides a raised, bright, visual warning of the manhole presence to prevent pedestrians or vehicles falling into the open manhole and prevent debris falling into the pipeline. As construction resumes the riser frame acts as a liner ensuring correct alignment of seating rings or brickwork or acting as a former for concrete pouring. The liner can be cut to height once the manhole access is ready to be exposed.

Key Features

  • Patented design: UK Patent No. GB2574070; US Patent No. 11008728
  • The raised profile and bright colour prevent pedestrians from falling into the manhole whilst it is left open during construction. It also warns plant operators of the location of the shaft
  • The manhole opening is covered by the riser frame to prevent debris from falling into the manhole, being swept along the pipeline and causing a blockage
  • The riser frame is pushed into place and locates itself on the cover slab, no fixings are required to hold it in position
  • Can be easily removed if access to the manhole is required during the construction phase
