Job Summary

The Manufacturing Leader is responsible for safely leading the manufacturing team in profitably building high-quality equipment.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Exemplify and promote a people centric philosophy
  • Cooperate with other Afinitas sites to do what is best for the whole organization
  • Work together with other functional site leaders to do what is best for the site, not what is easiest for each functional area
  • Lead implementation of positive change in ways to minimize frustration and improve efficiency
  • Ensure manufacturing activities are positively impacting profitability and constantly look for opportunities to improve
  • Understand manufacturing team’s impact on the financial performance of the site and be able to forecast performance and explain variances to plan
  • Develop and maintain schedules for equipment deliveries and internal projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 Technical 4-year education or technical 2-year education with five years of related experience.

Receiving/Shipping (New Hampton, Iowa)

Job Summary

The Receiver/Shipper helps handle inventory transactions and maintain inventory accuracy and stocking levels. In addition, this position verifies sales order completion and helps ready the products and paperwork for shipment. This candidate works closely with the manufacturing and shipping teams to ensure a smooth flow of finished products.

Essential Functions:

  • Work in conjunction with purchasing to maintain stock levels
  • Assist with parts, pull parts pick list as needed
  • Match packages/materials received with packing lists and check in
  • Deliver packages to appropriate departments
  • Stock shelves with received materials
  • Complete receiver transaction in ERP system
  • Verify correct items to ship using sales orders
  • Physically package parts
  • Identify and pull parts to prepare for shipping
  • Operate mobile equipment to assist with moving of finished product to designated location for shipment
  • Create shipping information in ERP system
  • Schedule truck lines, complete bill of lading
  • Unload trucks
  • Identify and document each manufactured item upon completion for shipment

Buyer/Purchasing (Mediapolis, IA)

Job Summary

The Buyer/Purchasing Agent will assist with the procurement of steel and other materials for our equipment manufacturing team. This candidate will be responsible for analyzing specifications, quality, quantity and delivery requirements of materials; determining best supply source; surveying markets for new supply sources; recommending and sourcing substitute items if product is not available. In addition, this person will assist with the development of short and long-range purchasing strategies in order to right-size the supply base, reduce cost, and improve service to internal customers.

Essential Functions:

  1. Establish strong, collaborative relationships with selected suppliers; may partner on joint continuous improvement initiatives
  2. Negotiate and create moderately complex key supplier contracts based on competence, competitive standing, and alignment with company vision; maintain cost control and drive cost reduction
  3. Prepare, analyze, evaluate and issue quotations ensuring all purchasing policy and objectives are met; complete purchase transactions ensuring that all deliverables are met
  4. Responsible for site inventory levels, product rejects and chargebacks
  5. Attend daily cross-functional team meetings and support parts flow to operations; responsible for resolution of escalated supplier issues
  6. Evaluate suppliers against quarterly supplier scorecard; perform site visits, collect and analyze internal metric data; require compliance to all performance parameters for which supplier is accountable
  7. Maintain updated economic and business condition knowledge that may affect purchasing strategy; consult with senior management
  8. May participate in cross-functional teams and key projects such as e-commerce, product development, spend/cost reduction analysis, etc.
  9. May prepare reports, value analysis studies and perform other procurement duties

Equipment Painter (Mediapolis, IA)

Job Summary

The Painter is involved in all stages of the painting process.  This role inspects equipment and parts before, during, and after painting.  This individual will sand, chip, and clean items as necessary to obtain a surface free of loose scale, rust, and weld spatter.  Duties also include the ability to mix and apply per manufacturers’ recommendations, operation of a pressure washer, cleaning and maintenance of equipment, as well as assembly and packaging.

Essential Functions:

  1. Production Knowledge:  Comprehends job duties in relation to procedures, materials, equipment, techniques, and policies. Suggests ideas for Company process improvements that would improve productivity and reduce cost.
  2. Quality of Work:  Thoroughly and accurately completes work. Produces a product that meets company quality standards and drives customer satisfaction.
  3. Productivity:  Effectively prioritizes work, completing work in a timely fashion with minimal supervision.  Displays initiative by flexing to other areas when own workload is low.

Field Service Technician (Mediapolis, IA)

Job Summary

The purpose of this job is to assemble, service, and take service calls on machines.  This includes assembly and installation of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits as well as the ability to troubleshoot these circuits.  The technician must travel to install, repair, troubleshoot, and assemble machines at various locations for our customers.        

  • This person will field technical support phone calls from customers.
  • Field parts calls from customers. This will include placing the order and providing the needed information to both the customer and the Hawkeye sales department. This will include providing pricing, quotations, customer purchase order numbers, and availability.
  • Assembly / routing of electrical systems from schematics.
  • Assembly of machinery, and routing of hydraulic and pneumatics
  • Welding of structural components from blueprints
  • Meet established production and quality standards.
  • Conform to all company attendance, safety, and personnel policies.
  • Able to operate forklifts, man-lifts, and other job related equipment safely.

Saw Operator/Material Handler (Mediapolis, IA)

Job Summary

The Saw Operator/Material Handler is responsible for:

  • Startup and shut down machine as recommended by maintenance
  • Operate machine in such a manner to meet Hawkeye quality standards
  • Operate machine in both a safe and productive manner
  • Perform required preventative maintenance
  • Read prints and complete miters meeting Hawkeye standards
  • Setup and program saws for automatic cutting operations
