Investment Reinforces Long-Term Commitment to Supporting Job Growth and Manufacturing in Iowa

ST. LOUIS – April 17, 2026

Afinitas, a leading global infrastructure equipment and services company, is pleased to announce plans to expand and modernize its manufacturing facility in Mediapolis, Iowa. The project represents a significant investment in advanced manufacturing, workforce growth, and long-term operations in Southeast Iowa.

The expansion will add approximately 30,000 square feet of new manufacturing space and include reconfiguration of existing areas to improve efficiency, safety, and production flow. This approximately $12 million investment reflects Afinitas’ confidence in the Mediapolis site and its role in supporting current and future customer demand across the globe.

The Mediapolis expansion is expected to support new job opportunities across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and administrative functions while also strengthening long-term job retention and skills development at the site.

The project is designed to modernize the facility with investments in advanced manufacturing, automation and material handling technologies with the goal of strengthening Mediapolis’ role as a key manufacturing hub within Afinitas’ global operations.

Afinitas is working in partnership with the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) and local economic development organizations on the project. The expansion has been awarded state economic development support, which recognizes investments that strengthen job creation, capital investment, and long-term economic growth in Iowa.

Construction is expected to begin in late summer 2026, with completion anticipated by the end of 2027. Afinitas will continue normal operations throughout the project and will share updates as milestones are reached.
